New Year’s Paleo Meal

Each New Years day, our family has a traditional meal which we eat.  It’s a special to us because we only eat it on special occasions.  It’s a traditional german sauerkraut and pork meal that is my grandmother’s recipe.  Good news for us, it’s all Paleo.  I made mine in the slow cooker and started cooking it last night at 6pm.  We ate it on New Years day at noon.  It was nothing but falling apart, juicy goodness of pork.

If you don’t like bitter or strong-tasting foods, you will not like this.  It is a hearty food, but oh so good for you!

Our traditional (lucky for us Paleo) New Years Day meal

Here’s what you’ll need:

Pork Loin – enough to feed the hungry mob around the table

Jarred sauerkraut – usually one large jar will do (depending on the size of your roast)

Water or chicken stock
