Food Review – Gluten Free, Dairy Free, Egg Free Easter Chocolate

003

I love chocolate. My Caveman and Cavebabies love chocolate. Needless to say we are cho-o-holics!

This year the Easter Bunny brought something new to this modern Paleo house: Gluten Free, Egg Free, Dairy Free Chocolate. It’s manufactured by a company in the UK named Kinnerton. On the box it states it was manufactured in separate production facilities to prevent cross-contamination from nuts, gluten and eggs. It came in the shape of a giant Easter egg and was (I say ‘was’ because we ate it already) the size of a osrtrich egg. It also came with a chocolate bar about the size of a Hershey bar.

So here’s what we thought about it:

On a scale of 1-5 (1 being the worst and 5 being the best)

Taste: 3.5. It was a bit above average because the dark chocolate we’ve had before (laced with chili flakes and coconut and like 80%+ cocoa) was orgasm inducing whereas this was not. This contains 55% cocoa. If you don’t like dark chocolate you will not like this at all. If you love dark chocolate, you will find it slightly above average.

Pallet: 3. It sits nicely on your palate and does tend to melt slightly.

Price: 4. It was on the clearance rack for £2.00. So money for value I think this was good. It would have been even better if the Easter Bunny had really bought and delivered it – for free!

Overall: 4. We give this chocolate a 4. It was manufactured responsibly, presentation was very nice and the taste was above average. We would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for an alternative in their chocolate. And when given the chance, we will buy this product again.

Oh by the way, the cavebabies didn’t get any of this chocolate….my caveman and I inhaled it!
